Waiting for him... [05/11/2009]

Last two months went very well. After disappointing WOC I fully succeed to improve my physical shape for short distances and especially sprint races. I reduced my km average and did a lot of specific and intense training session. I even managed to win all Belgian titles (night, middle, long and sprint and still 3rd in relay) and run some good street races and O Sprint sessions. It was really fun and motivating to change my way of training (more intervals and fast O session) and a good revenge after WOC. I’m still thinking that early in October it was possible to go under 15’ on 5km.

But last two weeks of this season were very hard, especially after a marathon relay with my athletic club and two really fun sprint events in Brussels ( maps ) in the same weekend. I therefore arrived very tired to French Night and Sprint champs. Fortunately technical sprints need more fast O technique abilities than running speed.

Some mistakes put me out of the French night champs podium (6th at 1’40” of second place) but last race of the year went better on a very technical sprint final race. Winning my heat qualification I ran safely (but not so fast) and finished second (1’ far) behind Tero Gueorgiou (with still no moustaches ;-) ). Happy ending of season !

Now I made a training break and restarted easily my training towards next season. Next goals for Marie and me are the venue of our little son in beginning of January and all my priorities are going to our family projects.
